Update from Pastor Janette 26/3/2020 (during COVID 19 lockdown stage 2)

Hi Friends,

I wish we could be having this chat over a cuppa face to face, but that is not possible at the moment. I also hope this finds you well and not going stir crazy?

We desire to keep as connected to you as we possibly can at present, and you will find Pete and Jordan doing a great job of this through emails and social media. I am not as tech savvy, but we are all learning to navigate this new normal (for the time being) together.

I am so proud of the seniors that managed to connect and watch the live stream on Sunday, or tune in later. HOW AWESOME! We also had several join the Zoom prayer group on Wednesday afternoon.

We are starting to see more small groups use this technology to continue meeting together.

May I encourage you at this time to keep connecting somehow!

Because of the extra demand, phone calls are even becoming a bit more difficult as the Telco lines get overloaded, so maybe even sending a card or a note to someone. Especially our seniors who do not have internet access. They, more than ever need to feel like they have not been forgotten.

Over the next few weeks, you will be getting a call from Pete, Jordan or myself, to see how you are travelling in this, and if there is any way we can assist you at this time. Please be patient, but also feel free to reach out and call us if you have an urgent need that we may be able to assist with.

This morning in my quiet time I was led to Psalm 94:18-19  When I said, “My foot is slipping,”  your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.

I also had a friend send me a link to a song that the kids at the school she works at wrote which was titled “We were born to love, 2020”  And then as I cut the top of one of my figs that I was having for breakfast, the inside formed the shape of a heart.

At all times, the most important thing is LOVE, but especially during these times, lets show our love for others, that is given to us by our loving Lord and Saviour.

Blessings

Pastor Janette
